For this project we had to pick an event or a global cause to make a poster for. I choose The Art of Video Games which is going on in the Toledo Art Museum in June.

"Helvetica" Response

     As I get more experienced with graphic design, I see different fonts everywhere and I feel like I pay attention more. Then I see those fonts everywhere I look, like I can't not see them. In "Helvetica" they talk about how when you write a certain word it should sound like what the word actually is. Like when you write dog it should bark.That should make sense but it doesn't. Just because it should sound or do something, doesn't mean it should. People can think a word means whatever they want it to be. A word might mean a different things to more than one person.
     I liked how some company in the film was taking old signs it looked like and turning them into bags. I would actually use one of those, they looked cool. I really like how each different person talked about what font they liked or didn't like and how it made them who they are today.
